Spartak CEO says club will not depend on football agents

Sergei Nekrasov described Spartak's relations with football agents as professional working relationships and said the club sets its own transfer valuations and payment terms.

In an interview with Sport-Express, Nekrasov discussed the club's work with Pavel Andreyev. He said the collaboration began before he joined Spartak, so he was not prepared to assess it. The publication's question said that after the split Andreyev took his players with him, and they had made up 90% of Spartak-2. The club recently renewed the contract of Dmitriev, whom Andreyev represents.

Nekrasov said Andreyev still has several players in the club's system and that Spartak is ready to work professionally with him and other agents. He said Dmitriev's personal and playing qualities are important to the team.

Asked about agent payments, Nekrasov said the club and agents work in the same field but have different goals. Spartak's sporting department decides in advance how much it will offer for a player, the terms of the deal and the payment structure. “We do not want to be, and definitely will not be, dependent on any one agent or a limited group of them,” he said. Nekrasov added that contract-renewal talks had shown him respectful, professional cooperation from leading agents.
