Madurai to hold voter registration camps for young electors

Polling stations across Madurai district in India’s Tamil Nadu state will open special voter-registration camps on Saturday, October 10. The drive is aimed at residents who have turned 18.

District Collector Anand Mohan announced the camps at a meeting of the Election Literacy Club at the district headquarters. He said polling stations would receive applicants from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Electoral registration officers have been visiting homes since October 7 to collect applications to add or remove voters and correct details in the rolls. Applicants should submit Form 6 with a colour passport-size photograph and documents proving their age and residential address.

Applications can also be filed through the ECINET app. The Election Commission of India has instructed states and union territories that have completed a Special Intensive Revision of their electoral rolls to hold such camps.
