St Petersburg court remands woman accused of attempting to kill her son

A St Petersburg court on October 10 ordered a woman accused of attempting to kill her young son to remain in custody until December 8.
The Krasnoselsky District Court decision was reported by Russian media citing the city's joint courts press service. The accused partly admitted guilt and did not oppose the detention order.
Investigators allege that on October 8, near Dudergofskoye Lake, she forced vinegar into the boy's mouth, poured it over his face and placed him in the water before leaving. The child managed to get out of the water and obtain help.
The woman faces a charge of attempted murder of a minor. The account of the attack is the prosecution's allegation, and the detention decision is a procedural measure taken before the case is resolved at trial.
