State Duma appoints deputy committee chairs

Russia's lower house approved a resolution covering 80 first deputy chairs and 85 deputy chairs as it completed its organisational appointments.

At its plenary meeting on October 13, the State Duma adopted a resolution on deputy committee chairs. Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin described the day as the conclusion of work to organise the chamber's subdivisions. He said committees played a central role in legislative work.

United Russia's press service announced individual appointments, which Vedomosti reported. Dmitry Vyatkin and Maxim Kavdzharadze became deputy chairs of the committee on constitutional and civil legislation and the judiciary. Natalya Orlova and Vladislav Reznik took deputy chair positions on the budget and tax committee.

Volodin also identified consideration of the report on implementation of the 2025 budget as a forthcoming priority. That is a separate item on the chamber's agenda. Tuesday's resolution deals with leadership positions in parliamentary committees and commissions.
