Taylor Swift to perform at Academy Museum gala on Oct. 17

Taylor Swift will headline the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures’ annual gala in Los Angeles on Oct. 17, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced.

The event raises support for the museum’s work to celebrate and preserve cinema. Museum director and president Amy Homma said Swift’s performance will close the evening. Organizers have not said which songs she will perform.

This year’s honorees are filmmaker and composer John Carpenter, actor Colman Domingo and Oscar winner Charlize Theron. It is the museum’s sixth gala.

Swift’s song “I Knew It, I Knew You,” listed in the credits for “Toy Story 5,” could be eligible for a 2027 Oscar nomination. Her most recent public performance was in August at a special Icon Sessions event at the Grammy Museum, where she sang parts of several songs. She also recorded a video with Emmy host Mariska Hargitay for this year’s ceremony.
