Temporary accommodation centre opens in Vsevolozhsky district after drone attack
Authorities opened a temporary accommodation centre at a House of Culture in Leningrad region's Vsevolozhsky district for residents of damaged flats, district head Lira Burak said.
Some flats have been flooded, she said. Authorities are considering a hotel or the Ostrovki children's camp for residents' subsequent accommodation. The specific arrangements are still being worked out.
An emergency commission met on the morning of October 18. Burak listed restoring electricity, assessing damage and repairing homes and social infrastructure among its tasks. She said an accident had knocked out two substations in Yanino.
Governor Alexander Drozdenko had earlier reported a fire after drone debris fell on a residential building in Vsevolozhsky district. Four people, a woman and three children, were admitted to hospital with symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning.
Drozdenko said 145 drones had been intercepted over Leningrad region during the night.
