Tver Region reports 32 nursery groups for babies from two months old

Tver Region has 32 nursery groups accepting babies from two months old, with 238 children attending, Governor Vitaly Korolev said on Oct. 13. The initiative is part of Russia’s Family national project.

In Tver, the groups operate in all four city districts, at kindergartens Nos. 2, 10, 134 and 160. Parents can leave children for several hours or a full day.

Korolev said groups had also opened in recent weeks at Kindergarten No. 2 in Konakovo and in the Spirovsky and Kashinsky districts. He said the region would continue developing this provision.

The regional government said the new group at Tver’s Kindergarten No. 2 had 10 places. Equipment includes playpens, changing and feeding tables, sensory play facilities and cradles with rocking mechanisms.

Two educators, an assistant and medical personnel work with the children. Daily routines and meals have been designed for babies aged two to six months and six months to one year.

Among the first children enrolled are those from large families and families of students and education workers. The announced regional attendance figure does not establish how many places remain available at individual kindergartens.
