Teams confirmed for Russian men’s volleyball Super Cup

Dynamo Moscow, Zenit Kazan, Zenit St Petersburg and Belogorie will contest the Russian men’s volleyball Super Cup. The Final Four tournament is scheduled for Dec. 26-27 in Moscow.
The Russian Volleyball Federation announced the participants. Belogorie also confirmed its place on the club’s official website on Oct. 13.
Places ordinarily go to the winners of the Russian championship, Russian Cup, Spartakiad and Legends Cup. Dynamo Moscow won all four competitions this season.
Dynamo therefore enters as national champion, with the other places filled by finalists. Zenit St Petersburg reached the Russian Cup final, Zenit Kazan the Spartakiad final, and Belogorie finished second in the Legends Cup.
Zenit Kazan are the defending Super Cup holders. Alexey Verbov’s side defeated Lokomotiv Novosibirsk 3-1 in last year’s final.
The December dates had been announced earlier. The latest statement identifies the teams that will contest the trophy following qualification through those competitions.
