Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Holy See’s secretary for relations with states and international organisations, will make an official visit to Pakistan from October 8 to 10 at the invitation of Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.
Gallagher is due to meet Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Dar to discuss matters of mutual interest, including interfaith harmony, dialogue and peace, as well as regional and international developments.
Pakistan’s Foreign Office said the archbishop is also expected to meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and speak with members of the Catholic community.
The ministry described the trip as a milestone in relations between Pakistan and the Holy See. It coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties and is the first visit to Pakistan by a secretary for relations with states and international organisations.
