VG: Oslo court authorises freeze on Russian properties for Naftogaz

Oslo District Court authorised Ukraine’s Naftogaz to freeze five Russian properties in the city, VG reports, citing a court ruling.

The ruling was issued on September 22. The newspaper says it covers an apartment building in Frogner and four cooperative flats. Four properties are rented out and another is vacant.

VG puts the company’s original claim at 40 billion Norwegian kroner. Around 17 billion kroner in interest and costs brought the total to 57 billion kroner. That is the claim’s value, rather than an appraisal of the frozen properties.

The newspaper says the freeze can be lifted if Russia’s Justice Ministry provides a guarantee for 40 billion kroner.
