Woman detained in Abakan over teenage friend's fatal stabbing near nightclub

Investigators detained a 21-year-old woman in Abakan in a murder case involving her 16-year-old friend, who died near a nightclub. RIA Novosti reported the case on October 18, citing the regional Investigative Committee.

According to investigators, the pair quarrelled outside a nightclub during the night of October 16. They allege the accused woman stabbed her friend once in the chest. The teenager died at the scene.

The Investigative Committee said the detained woman admitted guilt during questioning. The case was opened under Article 105 of Russia's Criminal Code, which covers murder.

Investigators are asking a court to place the accused woman in pretrial detention.
