Yury Kolokolnikov said in an interview with Kuji Podcast that Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan’s wife, is involved in the director’s filmmaking process alongside him. The actor also gave an example of close cost control in Hollywood productions.
Kolokolnikov said Thomas plays a major role in Nolan’s filmmaking and that the couple work on the films together. He made the comments in an interview with Kuji Podcast while discussing differences between Hollywood and Russian film production.
As an example of budget oversight, Kolokolnikov recalled a Nolan set where stunt performers were called in three hours earlier than planned. He said the change resulted in an additional $700 in costs, illustrating how closely expenses can be tracked even on a large production.
Kolokolnikov, who appeared in Nolan’s film Tenet, has previously said that the director does not allow actors to sit on chairs during filming.
