Zaviryukha sentenced to compulsory labour over Dobromilova’s death

Moscow’s Dorogomilovsky Court sentenced Maksim Zaviryukha to eighteen months of compulsory labour for the road collision that killed actress and photographer Ksenia Dobromilova. Ten percent of his earnings will be withheld for the state.

The sentence was announced on October 14. The court also banned him from activities involving vehicle operation for two and a half years. Prosecutors had requested two years of compulsory labour.

The case was heard under Part 3 of Article 264 of Russia’s Criminal Code, concerning traffic violations causing death through negligence. Zaviryukha admitted guilt and had been under house arrest during the investigation.

The collision happened in May on Bolshaya Dorogomilovskaya Street in Moscow. Dobromilova was thirty-four. Her mother was recognised as an injured party in the criminal case.

Dobromilova studied musical-theatre acting at Filatov Theatre College before working at the Moon Theatre and Moscow Musical Theatre. She also appeared in HammAli & Navai’s music video for “Devochka Voyna”.
