Zelenograd adoption event to seek homes for shelter cats on October 24

An adoption exhibition at the Zelenograd cultural centre on October 24 will let visitors meet cats from municipal shelters and take a pet home. Moscow's municipal services department said 20 animals would attend.

The event will run on Saturday from 11:00 to 17:00. The cats come from shelters operated by the municipal institution Dorinvest and have been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered or spayed.

Shelter staff will explain each cat's health and temperament, help visitors get acquainted with the animals and answer questions about their care.

Anyone wishing to adopt a cat should bring a passport to sign a responsible ownership agreement. A carrier will also be needed to take the animal home.
