
Police in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu seized 133 kg of prohibited tobacco products worth about ₹94,400 and arrested two residents of Achanpudur.
Police stopped a car carrying the products during a routine check on the main road between Achanpudur and Kasidharmam. Officers searched the vehicle and found the banned tobacco goods inside. Police estimated their value at about ₹94,400.
The occupants were identified as G. Shahul Hameed, 44, and S. Tajudeen, 47, both residents of Achanpudur. They were arrested on suspicion of transporting prohibited goods.
During questioning, the men said they planned to sell the products to customers in Tenkasi district. Officers seized both the tobacco and the car. Further investigation is under way.
