25-year-old worker dies at Amazon warehouse in Rome

A 25-year-old Amazon warehouse worker died during a night shift in Rome’s Settecamini district. The cause of death has not been officially established, and the circumstances are under investigation.

Colleagues raised the alarm shortly before 2 a.m. Emergency responders were unable to save the man. He worked as a warehouse operator at the facility on Via Peroni in Settecamini. Initial reports said he may have suffered a sudden medical emergency.

Marino Masucci, general secretary of the Fit Cisl union in Lazio, offered condolences to the worker’s family and called for the circumstances to be clarified. Eleonora Mattia, a Lazio regional councillor from the Democratic Party, also urged an investigation and asked authorities to consider banning night shifts where possible.

Amazon said it was saddened by the tragedy, offered its condolences to the family and was available to assist authorities with any necessary inquiries.
