Alfa-Bank acquires 4.85% of Medsi from Sistema
Alfa-Bank has become a minority shareholder in clinic group Medsi. Sistema retains control with 90.64%, while the transaction price remains undisclosed.
The bank and Sistema confirmed the deal on October 13. The holding company described it as a step towards a possible stock market listing for Medsi in the medium term.
Sistema shares rose 7.06% to 7.887 roubles on the Moscow Exchange at 12:38 Moscow time, according to RBC. That is an intraday observation at the stated time, rather than a closing price.
A Sistema representative said other institutional investors and funds remain interested. They could participate in the current pre-IPO round or a public offering. Completed transactions with those investors have not been announced.
Founder Vladimir Yevtushenkov had previously discussed a possible 2026 listing and in June made an autumn offering conditional on favourable circumstances. Sistema president Tagir Sitdekov outlined plans to involve three investors and retain control. No firm IPO date has been announced.
