AlMasria says it ordered two Airbus A321s for Russian routes

AlMasria Universal Airlines has ordered two additional Airbus A321s for the Russian market, chief executive Shirin Farid said. The carrier expects to receive them soon but did not give exact dates.
In an interview published by RIA Novosti on October 9, Farid said the current fleet comprised eight Airbus A321s with 220 seats each. She said the company owned all its aircraft and did not use leasing.
AlMasria flies from Egyptian resort cities to 14 Russian cities and intends to expand its network. The ordered aircraft are the same model it already operates.
Farid also said the company initially ordered Airbus A330s but abandoned that option because of delivery delays. Receipt of the two A321s remains the carrier’s stated plan.
Egyptian Tourism and Antiquities Minister Sherif Fathy previously told RIA Novosti that Russian visitor numbers rose 23% year on year in the first nine months of 2026. He said more than two million Russians visited Egypt in 2025, making them the largest group of foreign tourists.
