VTsIOM survey finds 72.5% of Russians trust Putin

A VTsIOM survey published on 9 October found that 72.5% of respondents trust Vladimir Putin and 68.6% approve of his performance. The poll was conducted between 28 September and 4 October.
Distrust of the president was expressed by 22.1% of participants, while 20.7% disapproved of his performance. The figures reflect separate survey questions about trust in the politician and assessments of his work.
The government’s performance received approval from 44.6% of respondents and disapproval from 24.2%. Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was trusted by 54.1% and distrusted by 23.9%.
Asked how they would vote in a hypothetical State Duma election, 31.9% chose United Russia, 18.8% the Communist Party, 11.6% New People and 9.3% the LDPR. A Just Russia — Patriots — For Truth received 4.6%, while non-parliamentary parties accounted for 6.5%.
The Binom VTsIOM survey involved 1.6 thousand Russians aged over 18. It used a combined sample: 50% telephone interviews using the Sputnik methodology and 50% route sampling. The stated maximum margin of error was 2.5%.
