Amerigo Vespucci tour concludes in Trieste during Barcolana

The Italian Navy training ship has completed its North America campaign in Trieste, where the Villaggio IN Italia is running events from October 8 to 12.

The conclusion of the Amerigo Vespucci World Tour – North America Campaign 2026 coincides with the 58th edition of Barcolana. The initiative of the Ministry of Defence and Italian Navy was produced by Difesa Servizi and announced by Defence Minister Guido Crosetto in September 2025. The project was developed with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture, Minister for Sport and Youth, and Minister for Disabilities.

The Villaggio IN Italia has returned to Trieste alongside the ship. Its programme includes forums on sailing and underwater activities. The tour began in Genoa in May and called at Baltimore, New York, Boston, Québec City and Montréal, as well as Cagliari, Castellammare di Stabia, Naples and Venice. The ship covered more than 15,000 nautical miles during the campaign.

Before this visit, Amerigo Vespucci had appeared at Barcolana four times: in 2018, 2019 and 2022, and at a special regatta on March 1, 2025, which marked the ship's return to Italy after its 2023-2025 world tour.
