Romanian food and wine events to visit on October 9–11

Markets, tastings, concerts and a plant-based food festival are scheduled in Bucharest, Timișoara and Iași.

Food and wine fairs, concerts and plant-based food events are scheduled in Bucharest, Timișoara, Iași and other Romanian cities from October 9 to 11.

In Bucharest, the autumn edition of RO-Wine will run at Fratelli Studios from October 9 to 11, with tastings, masterclasses, cooking workshops and Romanian and international gourmet food. On the same dates, OctObor Fest – Toamna la Obor will take place at Piața Obor, featuring meat and traditional pastoral products, cheeses and folk music concerts. Târgul de (B)oierit will open in the courtyard of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant on October 10 and 11 from 10 a.m. Admission is free. The listed products include cheese, meat, trout, bread, seasonal vegetables, honey, fruit and pastries. Bărbați pe Mătăsari will bring concerts and food trucks to Mătăsari Street from October 9 to 11.

In Timișoara, LA PAS 2026 (Slowing Down) at Institutul Francez Timișoara will bring together local producers and artisans. Its programme includes initiatives inspired by Slow Food and agroecology, short supply chains, tastings and a “Living Food Library.” In Iași, the third edition of Iași Plant Based Fest will be held at Palatul Culturii on October 10 and 11. Visitors can expect plant-based food made with pulses, grains, nuts, vegetables, mushrooms and fermented products, as well as cooking demonstrations and tastings.
