The coach is weighing midfield changes before Sunday's Serie A match.
After beating Lecce, Ruben Amorim used the international break to refine AC Milan's play. A back four is a new option for the Portuguese coach, who has turned to it because the team has struggled to make his previous approach work.
Il Fatto Quotidiano reports that Amorim is considering flexible 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 systems. Diego Moreira and Cisse are among the candidates for the left side. In a 4-3-3, Yunus Musah and Ruben Loftus-Cheek could operate centrally. Italian sports outlets have also previewed Milan with four defenders for Sunday's game against Sassuolo.
Luka Modric has returned from international duty and is expected to play, according to the report. Pervis Estupinan is injured, leaving Mario Gila as a possible replacement at left back, with Davide Bartesaghi on the other flank.
Gonçalo Ramos is another question. The striker covers ground but has yet to score regularly in Serie A. Amorim has said he would not ask a player to run less, while Milan need Ramos to finish more attacks. The club faces nine matches in October, including a derby.
