Angelina Melnikova and Viktoria Listunova named in world championship squad

Russia’s gymnastics federation has announced its final squad for the artistic gymnastics world championships in Rotterdam. Olympic champions Angelina Melnikova and Viktoria Listunova are included in the women’s team.
Anna Kalmykova, Lyudmila Roshchina and Alena Glotova complete the women’s lineup, with Milana Kayumova named as reserve. Match TV reported the federation’s selection on October 9.
The championships will take place in the Netherlands from October 17 to 25. Russian gymnasts are entered to compete under the World Gymnastics flag. The event forms part of qualification for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
Later on October 9, the federation said the team had still not received Dutch visas, two days before its planned departure, TASS reported. The squad announcement therefore came with a separate travel issue unresolved.
The confirmed selection sets out which women have been chosen for the competition, while obtaining visas remains a separate requirement for the team’s participation.
