Mikhail Tatarinov offers medals for sale to buy a home

Former hockey player Mikhail Tatarinov has offered his award collection for sale for 25 million roubles, saying he needs the money to buy an apartment.
The collection includes a gold medal from the 1990 World Championships, a silver medal from that year's European Championships and gold from the Goodwill Games in Seattle. Mash on Sport reported the sale and quoted the former defenceman.
Tatarinov said his former wife is handling the sale. He cited financial difficulties and said he currently lives with friends. The 25 million roubles is the asking price, with no completed transaction reported.
At the 1990 World Championships, Tatarinov scored 11 points and was named best defenceman. He played 238 games in the Soviet championship and won a national title with Moscow's Dynamo. He also made 161 NHL appearances for the Washington Capitals and Boston Bruins.
