Artiga apologises to Rubin fans after Orenburg defeat

Rubin Kazan coach Frank Artiga apologised to supporters after a 4–1 home defeat by Orenburg in the Russian Cup on October 15 and promised immediate action.
Artiga described the opening 15 minutes as dreadful. In his assessment, Rubin failed to compete forcefully enough in their own penalty area and at set pieces, allowing lost challenges to cancel out the players' technical quality.
Speaking to Rubin's press service, the coach said he had kept the same lineup after the previous match against Dynamo, hoping to maintain that performance level. He described the sharp decline as primarily a mental issue.
Artiga said measures would begin on match day and that the players would spend additional time at the club's training base. He urged them to repair their performance through work rather than blame the pitch or a possible offside before Orenburg's opening goal.
Rubin visit Spartak Moscow on October 28 in the next round of the Russian Cup's RPL Path group stage.
