CBS reports four victims killed in Oregon elementary school shooting

Three children and an adult were killed in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, CBS News reported, citing law enforcement sources. The suspected attacker was also killed.
Bend Police spokesperson Sheila Miller said officers first received a report of a man shooting into a car shortly before 1 p.m. local time. About a minute later, callers reported that the person had entered the school and opened fire.
Officers arrived within three minutes and reported that the suspect was dead. At a briefing, Miller said a bystander may have shot him, although police had not established who fired the fatal shot.
CBS's sources described the suspected attacker as a teenager. Miller separately confirmed that children were among the victims and said at least two people had been taken to hospital.
Emergency services evacuated classrooms. FBI Director Kash Patel said the bureau's local office was assisting law enforcement. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also joined the response, according to a law enforcement source cited in the report.
