Asya Balabay leaves executive director role at Auchan

Asya Balabay has left her post as Auchan's executive director, sources told RBC. A retail-market source told the outlet that she stepped down on October 15.
Information about Balabay disappeared from the management section of the chain's website, Kommersant and a RIA Novosti correspondent noted.
Balabay had worked at the company for more than 20 years. She became chief executive of its Russian division in September 2025 and moved to the executive director role in September 2026.
The management changes came after Auchan's Russian assets were placed under temporary administration. Ilya Berdnikov succeeded Balabay as chief executive.
Retail.ru reported that the company also announced Berdnikov was becoming president of Auchan LLC under a new organisational structure.
