Bali extends petrol station hours as tourists report fuel queues

Russian visitors have reported difficulty finding petrol in Bali, while Pertamina announced round-the-clock station operations in four areas.

Pertamina chief Simon Aloysius Mantiri said on October 13 that stations in Denpasar and Badung would move to 24-hour operation that day. The same arrangement is planned for Tabanan and Gianyar within one or two days, Indonesia's ANTARA news agency reported. The company expects longer hours to ease queues.

Russian holidaymakers interviewed by RIA Novosti said smaller fuel outlets had run out of petrol. One visitor described checking about 20 outlets the previous day and another 10 on the day of the interview, before filling up at a larger station after an hour's wait.

Another visitor, Nikita, reported searching roughly ten local outlets and waiting around an hour at a larger station. Their accounts describe individual experiences rather than conditions at every station on the island.

The disruption has affected areas including Ubud and Uluwatu. Russia's consulate general advised visitors to plan routes, allow extra travel time and avoid non-essential trips where possible.
