Belgorod governor urges residents to avoid forests after explosive-device warning

Belgorod Governor Alexander Shuvayev urged residents on October 13 to avoid forest trips after reports of explosive devices being dropped from drones in border areas.
According to the governor, the devices resemble tubes and can detonate on impact, when touched or without direct contact. He asked residents to explain the danger posed by unfamiliar objects to children and elderly relatives.
Shuvayev warned people not to approach, touch, move or try to disarm objects resembling ammunition or mines. His published message instructed anyone finding such an object to move to a safe distance and call emergency services on 112, describing its location as accurately as possible.
He also urged residents to follow official updates and operational warnings. The announcement did not identify particular forest sites or provide a map of affected areas.
