Two mushroom pickers injured by unidentified explosive device in Bryansk region

Two people were injured when an unidentified device exploded in a forest near Vereshchovka village in Dyatkovo district, Bryansk region Governor Yegor Kovalchuk said.
The injured people were a 65-year-old woman and a 45-year-old man who had been gathering mushrooms. Vedomosti and Kommersant reported on October 13 that they were hospitalised with injuries of varying severity. Further details of their condition were not given.
Kovalchuk urged residents to avoid forests near the area of Russia’s special military operation and places where official access restrictions apply. He also asked people to monitor announcements from local authorities and operational warnings.
The governor described the device as unidentified. Its type and origin were not specified. Reports of earlier explosions elsewhere in the region do not establish the cause of this particular incident.
