Brooklyn Nets defeated Philadelphia 76ers 114–108 in an NBA preseason game in New York. Egor Demin scored 13 points for the hosts, while LeBron James made his first appearance for Philadelphia.

RIA Novosti reported the results on October 9. The quarter scores were 33–33, 23–25, 37–23 and 21–27. Brooklyn trailed by two points at halftime but won the third quarter by 14.

Philadelphia’s Jaylen Brown led all scorers with 18 points. Julius Randle scored 14 for Brooklyn. Demin played 22 minutes, adding five assists and one rebound.

Four-time NBA champion James recorded 10 points, five assists and four rebounds in 18 minutes. His debut for the new team came during preparations for the season, which starts on October 20.

In other games, Boston Celtics beat Cleveland Cavaliers 124–113, Miami Heat beat New Orleans Pelicans 128–118 and Washington Wizards defeated New York Knicks 111–109. Atlanta Hawks beat San Antonio Spurs 123–116, while Los Angeles Lakers defeated Sacramento Kings 114–110.
