Steelers host Colts without Michael Pittman Jr. in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Steelers host the Indianapolis Colts at Acrisure Stadium on October 11, with both NFL teams entering at 2–2. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Eastern Time, or 8 p.m. Moscow time.
Pittsburgh confirmed on October 10 that Michael Pittman Jr. had been placed on the Reserve/Injured List with a foot injury. Coach Mike McCarthy had previously said his recovery would take multiple weeks. The receiver, acquired from Indianapolis in the offseason, will miss the meeting with his former team.
Pittman’s absence could increase the passing-game workload for Roman Wilson and rookie Germie Bernard. Quarterback Aaron Rodgers also has tight ends Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth available as receiving options.
Indianapolis recovered from two opening losses to reach an even record. A victory in Pittsburgh would put the Colts on a winning record for the first time this season. CBS Sports’ preview places them one win behind Jacksonville in the AFC South, while Pittsburgh trails Baltimore and Cleveland in the AFC North.
The Steelers won the previous meeting 27–20 in November 2025, forcing six turnovers. Daniel Jones threw three interceptions and was sacked five times. Alex Highsmith recorded two of those sacks and a forced fumble.
Neither team gained much on the ground in that meeting. Jonathan Taylor had 45 yards on 15 carries, while Jaylen Warren managed 31 on 16 carries but scored twice. CBS Sports puts Pittsburgh’s series record since 1974 at 28–8, with Indianapolis’ last win in the city coming in 2008.
This season, CBS Sports highlights the Colts’ red-zone offense: nine touchdowns from 12 trips inside the opposing 20-yard line. Their defense has allowed opponents to convert just 14 of 48 third downs, or 29.2 percent. Pittsburgh’s offense ranks 28th in the league on third down.
CBS Sports sees an opportunity for Pittsburgh’s running game against a Colts defense allowing 4.8 yards per carry. Warren has accumulated 220 rushing yards across the Steelers’ last two games. The outlet’s prediction favors Pittsburgh, but remains a pregame assessment. CBS and Paramount+ are scheduled to carry the game in the United States.
