Russian diplomat calls for ITU discussions on Starlink use

Russian Foreign Ministry official Boris Vasilyev has called for collective decisions through the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) over uses of Starlink that he describes as interference in countries' internal affairs.
Vasilyev spoke at a satellite communications discussion during the second Global Digital Forum in Moscow on October 10, RIA Novosti reported. He heads a section within the ministry's international information security department.
The diplomat claimed more than ten countries had faced the threat. The report does not identify those countries or describe specific incidents, and his assessment is not presented as an independently established finding.
Vasilyev proposed coordinated decisions through the ITU. The report does not announce measures adopted by the union or an approved mechanism for implementing them. The forum ran from October 8 to 10.
