Cessna crew taken to hospital after emergency landing in Sretensk

A pilot and aviation technician were taken to hospital after a Cessna 182 made an emergency landing in Sretensk on October 10. The aircraft belongs to Avialesookhrana, according to regional emergency officials.

The aircraft overturned near the runway with two people aboard. Regional emergency authorities said both crew members were injured and admitted to the district hospital. The severity of their injuries was being assessed.

An engine failure during take-off was identified as a preliminary explanation. That remains an initial account rather than a completed investigation finding. Transport prosecutors opened an aviation safety inquiry.

Moscow 24 reported, citing emergency officials, that firefighters disconnected the aircraft's battery to prevent a fire. Twenty personnel and seven vehicles were involved in dealing with the incident.

Initial reports citing investigators said nobody was hurt. The emergency authorities' account of injuries and hospital admission means the incident cannot be described as injury-free.
