Construction vessel runs aground after storm in Gelendzhik

A vessel used in construction of Gelendzhik Marina ran aground near the beach of the Kavkaz sanatorium after a storm. Gelendzhik Mayor Alexey Bogodistov reported the incident on October 19.

Water is being pumped out of the vessel. Once that work is complete, it is expected to be towed towards the tourism complex. The mayor said there was no threat of pollution to the surrounding sea.

The bad weather also damaged beaches in the city centre. Organisations using the beach areas have begun clearing up after the storm.

Bogodistov instructed the city's resort administration to coordinate beach cleanup work and help the organisations responsible for those areas where necessary.
