Kursk region begins housing certificates for co-owners of lost homes
Russia's Kursk region has begun issuing housing certificates to border-area residents who held shares in homes they lost. Federal funding of 755.5 million roubles covers 147 certificates, Governor Alexander Khinshtein said.
Money from the initial allocation is already reaching recipients' designated accounts. Authorities are also preparing new lists of residents eligible for support.
Previously, a certificate issued to one owner prevented other co-owners of the same property from receiving one, Khinshtein explained. The revised procedure allows compensation in proportion to an ownership share regardless of other owners' eligibility.
Separately, the region received 327 million roubles to clear rent compensation arrears and 319 million roubles for October payments.
According to the governor, more than 16 thousand housing certificates worth over 100 billion roubles have been issued across the region in total. Of those, 14867 certificates worth more than 97 billion roubles have been used.
