Court extends Viktor Tarazevich’s detention until February 10, 2027

A military court extended the detention of former Russian Defence Ministry resource-supply official Viktor Tarazevich through February 10, 2027, a RIA Novosti court correspondent reported on October 16.
The court granted investigators’ request for an extension. Tarazevich had asked to participate by video conference rather than attend in person, and that request was granted as well.
Investigators allege that cheaper ingredients outside the required standards were used in canned meat supplied in 2024–2025 and that 700 million roubles was embezzled.
According to the case materials, Voyentorg engaged RBE as a subcontractor. On February 9, 2024, RBE signed a canned-food supply agreement with Narmyasprom for military units.
Five other people are defendants in the case: Narmyasprom executives Alexey Baranov and Dmitry Vislobokov, MPK Selyatino chief executive Artem Baryshkov, the company’s technologist Zinaida Grishchuk and businessman Dmitry Mizgir.
