Dmitriev expects first US diesel supply contracts within days

Russian Direct Investment Fund chief Kirill Dmitriev said on October 14 that the first contracts to supply Russian diesel to the United States could be signed within days. He spoke at Russian Energy Week in Moscow.
Dmitriev, the president’s representative for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, said the Russian and American sides were maintaining intensive contacts. He described rapid progress alongside numerous logistical questions that still needed resolving.
He was answering a question about the first contracts and the start of deliveries. His statement sets out an expected timetable rather than confirming signed agreements or fuel shipments already dispatched.
An initial supply understanding was announced following Donald Trump’s telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin on October 9. The US president said the United States wanted Russian diesel. Russian Energy Week runs in Moscow from October 14 to 16.
