Novak promises full domestic diesel supply as Russia eases export restrictions

Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said on October 9 that Russia's domestic market would remain fully supplied with diesel as the country began easing restrictions on exports. He made the assurance as Moscow prepared to resume additional deliveries abroad.
Russia is ready to supply additional diesel to the United States in October, Novak said. He also said exports could increase in November and December as refineries returned from repairs. The comments followed a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump about Russian fuel deliveries to international markets.
Novak welcomed the US move to facilitate diesel trade and said Russia was beginning to lift its own export restrictions ahead of the previously planned schedule. His statement about domestic supply sets out the government's expectation as that policy changes. It does not establish that additional shipments have already arrived overseas or that domestic retail prices will fall.
