Dombay cable cars stop during power infrastructure repairs
Power supply to the Dombay resort settlement in Russia’s Karachay-Cherkessia was restricted on October 19 for repairs to energy infrastructure. The cable cars are also not operating, local administrators told Interfax.
An administration representative said the outage was necessary for scheduled and urgent work. Repairs and restoration of electricity supply are expected to be completed by the end of the day.
The resort’s official website also warned residents and visitors about the outage and cable car suspension. Its notice said the repair schedule could be adjusted depending on weather conditions.
Dombay has around 140 hotels, guesthouses, tourist accommodation facilities and other lodging properties with approximately seven thousand beds. Its ski infrastructure includes 12 runs totalling more than 25 kilometres.
