Taika Waititi says his Star Wars film is on hold
Director Taika Waititi told Inverse that work on his Star Wars film had been put on hold, while leaving open the possibility of returning to it in the future.
Waititi said he was trying to make about four other films. He discussed the project's status during a press event for Klara and the Sun.
The director said he and screenwriter Tony McNamara were continuing to work together on a different project. He declined to disclose further details of that collaboration.
Waititi's Star Wars film was announced in 2020. The studio said at the time that he would direct and co-write a feature intended for theatrical release.
