Dzerzhinsky quarry improvement work planned to start in 2027
The initial phase of improvements at Dzerzhinsky quarry in Lyubertsy Urban District is planned for 2027. District head Vladimir Volkov said the project would cover 4.2 hectares.
The concept includes a beach area, walking routes and outdoor lighting. Children’s and sports facilities, landscape features and a lift for visitors with limited mobility are also planned.
Volkov inspected the quarry with relevant deputies and the designer. The concept had previously been discussed with residents at meetings and outreach sessions held by the administration.
More than 150 temporary retail structures have already been removed from the site. The administration said they had operated without authorisation. The improvements are planned under the Infrastructure for Life national project.
According to the administration, 20 parks and public gardens have been improved in the district over the past three years.
