Eduard Vekkesser remanded in custody in Krasnoyarsk bribery case

A Krasnoyarsk court remanded Eduard Vekkesser in custody on suspicion of accepting a 400,000-rouble bribe. Regional investigators reported the detention measure on October 13.

Investigators allege that Vekkesser received the money in instalments during 2026 in exchange for unhindered acceptance of construction work at a cultural and entertainment facility. RIA Novosti's report does not identify the specific site.

The case was opened under Article 290, part 5, paragraph v of Russia's Criminal Code, concerning large-scale bribery for unlawful actions. It followed materials provided by the regional Federal Security Service.

RIA described Vekkesser as director of an institution managing city public spaces. However, Krasgorpark told local outlets that he had left the position the previous week. Remand is a pretrial measure and does not establish guilt.
