Moscow announces photography contest on city architecture

Applications for Moscow: Architecture of Time will be accepted from October 14 to November 15, 2026, Deputy Mayor Vladimir Efimov said.

The contest is being held for the first time and is organized by Moscow's urban planning and construction complex. Participants are invited to choose a site from a designated list and submit their photographic interpretation of its architecture.

The list contains 19 sites. Those named in the announcement include the Moscow Hippodrome and Torpedo Stadium. Inclusion in the contest list does not, by itself, constitute an announcement that a building has entered service.

City officials, architects and art historians will assess the work. Organizers say the photographs should reflect changes in the urban environment and different perspectives on Moscow's structures.

Efimov's announcement sets October 14 as the application opening date. November 15 is the submission deadline, rather than the date on which winners will be announced.
