EXIAR lowers registration-age requirement for SME deferred-payment insurance

Russian exporters and foreign buyers now need 18 months since registration instead of the previous 24 months.

The Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance changed an eligibility condition for its small and medium-sized business programme. The Russian Export Center announced the decision on October 13. The lower threshold applies to both parties to an export transaction.

The maximum shipment value under one contract remains 10 million rubles, and the fixed insurance premium is 30,000 rubles. Applications are handled electronically through the My Export platform. The announcement says the digital process does not change insurance risk assessment.

According to the centre, the programme has operated since 2020. More than a thousand contracts have been concluded and over 600 companies have used it. Insured shipments cover 65 countries. Products include food and agricultural goods, furniture, building materials, industrial equipment and spare parts. Those totals describe the programme overall, rather than results of the new registration threshold.
