Father of boy killed in Egypt describes damaged hotel wiring

The father of a Russian boy who died in Sharm el-Sheikh told TASS he believed prolonged exposure to electric current had caused his son's death. He said the hotel's lighting circuit lacked a residual-current device.
He said hotel employees began repairing damaged wiring immediately after the incident. A second boy who tried to help his son survived and was back at the hotel, according to the father.
Russia's embassy in Cairo confirmed the death of a Russian minor on October 16. The consulate is in contact with Egyptian authorities and is helping the parents arrange documents to return the child to Russia.
