Fico sets November 25 as planned date for Slovakia–Russia commission meeting

The Slovakia–Russia intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation is scheduled to meet on November 25, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said on October 14.
Fico gave the date during a meeting of parliament’s foreign affairs committee, broadcast on the legislature’s website. His remarks concern a planned session rather than the outcome of talks that have already taken place.
In late August, Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar had said the meeting was intended for the autumn. The commission covers economic, scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries. Its work was interrupted after 2021.
Fico had said on May 9 that the revived commission would meet in Moscow and that Blanar would lead the Slovak delegation. The October announcement therefore supplies a specific date for a meeting planned earlier.
The reported remarks did not identify particular documents to be signed or set out a detailed agenda.
