Fire at poultry-farm site near Tomsk extinguished

Firefighters have extinguished a blaze in an unused building at a poultry-farm site near Tomsk. The fire covered about 2,000 square metres, the regional EMERCOM department and Interfax reported.
The emergency call came at 09:21 local time on October 10, or 05:21 in Moscow. The fire involved a single-storey brick building at the fourth kilometre of the Novomikhaylovka–Svetly road.
Crews responded under an elevated fire-alert level. The department's initial account listed more than 40 firefighters and 13 vehicles. They first contained the fire across 2,000 square metres before extinguishing it.
Local outlet vtomske.ru reported that the response involved 51 personnel and 17 vehicles. Citing the department, it said nobody was injured. Investigators were establishing the cause and assessing the damage.
Interfax identified the address as the site of Mezheninovskaya Poultry Farm, part of the Siberian Premier agricultural holding.
