Fire at Ulyanovsk's Barcelona hotel extinguished

A fire at the Barcelona hotel in central Ulyanovsk has been extinguished, the regional emergencies department said. Thirteen people evacuated the building and nobody was injured.

The department's preliminary assessment was that the flames spread to the hotel from nearby sheds. Firefighters responded under an elevated incident classification.

More than 70 personnel took part in tackling the blaze. Rescuers had earlier reported containing the fire before continuing work on the building's roof.
