Police registered a case under India’s child protection law after the parents of an 11-year-old boy filed a complaint. Four children under 13 are named in the case.
According to police, the parents filed the complaint with the All Women Police unit in Vallam on October 6. They alleged that their son had been sexually harassed on October 3 by four pupils from his school.
After the complaint, police registered a case under India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and placed the four children at a government juvenile home in Thanjavur. The POCSO Act is intended to protect children from sexual offences. The report describes the complaint and police action but does not mention a court ruling in the case.
